Job Information

TheApplication Sales Engineeris responsible for providing pre- and post-sale technical support by delivering product proposals, evaluating customer requirements, identifying and resolving application issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance team accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions; answering technical questions for clients; mentoring team members
  • Contributes to sales team effort by delivering technical proposals, presentations and demonstrations
  • Provides technical support to clients by maintaining advanced product knowledge; product training; assisting in process control solutions
  • Identifies sales requirements by establishing personal rapport with people in the position to understand service requirements
  • Maintains quality service by following organizational standards
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications
  • Partners with outside sales representatives to identify customer needs, develop account opportunities, support territory growth, and provide timely technical input that advances the sales process


Outside Sales Component

In addition to technical application support, this role includes a customer-facing outside sales component. The position will work closely with field sales, operations, and vendor partners to strengthen customer relationships, uncover project opportunities, and help convert technical requirements into practical flow control solutions.

  • Participate in customer visits, site walkdowns, lunch-and-learns, and technical sales meetings as needed to support outside sales initiatives
  • Assists with identifying and qualifying opportunities for valves, automation, instrumentation, and related flow control products
  • Provides technical recommendations, product selections, and commercial support to help outside sales respond quickly and accurately to customer needs
  • Supports territory and account development by sharing product knowledge, competitive insight, application feedback, and customer-specific requirements with the team
  • May be required to travel to customer facilities, jobsites, vendor locations, or company branches to support sales opportunities and project execution


Qualifications:

  • Organizational skills and time management
  • Effective communications skills both written and verbal for interface with Clients and co-workers
  • Ability to multitask, use initiative, and sometimes work under pressure to achieve deadlines
  • Motivation to contribute to and develop with the company as growth / diversification continues
  • Ability to work in a team environment (Field Sales, Engineering, Customer Service, Accounting)
  • Effective computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite and other Company and discipline specific software applications
  • Customer-facing mindset with the ability to build relationships, support account development, and communicate technical value in a sales environment
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, vendor facilities, branches, and field locations as business needs require
  • BS Engineering degree with an emphasis in electrical/instrumentation

Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment with flexibility for hybrid work. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers are used. Occasional visits to warehouses or operational sites may be required.
