We are looking for an
Application Engineer - Utility Power Systems to support our Generator Breaker and Outdoor Distribution Breaker business across North America. In this customer-facing role, you will work with utilities, EPCs, power producers, renewable developers, and consulting engineers to deliver innovative medium-voltage solutions that improve reliability, safety, and performance.
You'll make an impact by: - Serving as the technical advisor for generator breaker and outdoor distribution breaker applications up to 38kV.
- Partnering with utilities, EPC contractors, consultants, and power producers to develop customer-focused technical solutions.
- Reviewing specifications, one-line diagrams, and system requirements to create competitive proposals and system recommendations.
- Leading technical presentations, design reviews, and customer discussions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborating with engineering, product management, manufacturing, and sales teams to deliver differentiated Siemens solutions.
- Supporting grid modernization projects by helping customers improve reliability, resiliency, and lifecycle performance.
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in applications engineering, proposal engineering, utility engineering, power systems, project engineering, or related disciplines.
- Knowledge of medium-voltage power distribution systems.
- Experience reviewing one-line diagrams, protection schemes, and project specifications.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers and project stakeholders.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with medium-voltage switchgear, breakers, transformers, substations, protection and control systems, or SCADA integration.
- Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, NEC, and utility industry standards.
- Experience supporting utility, generation, transmission, or renewable energy projects.
- Previous customer-facing engineering, applications, or proposal experience.
- Knowledge of value engineering and lifecycle optimization concepts.

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
