Job Title: Application Engineer (SD/CRM)

Location: Houston, TX (On-site)

Company: Yinlun TDI LLC

Position Overview

We are seeking an Application Engineer (SD/CRM) to support and progressively take ownership of SAP SD, CRM, EDI, and related customer order-fulfillment processes across Yinlun TDI's North American operations.

Yinlun TDI is implementing SAP S/4HANA together with an integrated system landscape that includes WMS, MES, SRM, CRM, IQC, and other connected applications across the United States and Mexico. This role will provide Level 1 and Level 2 application support, troubleshoot transactional and interface issues, support users, and help maintain reliable day-to-day business operations.

This is a growth-oriented role designed to develop into an internal Level 3 functional owner over time, with increasing responsibility for configuration, functional specifications, system design decisions, and reduced reliance on external consultants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary application support contact for SAP SD, CRM, EDI, and customer order-fulfillment processes.
  • Support Sales, Customer Service, Program Management, Shipping, and Logistics users.
  • Own assigned support tickets from intake through resolution or escalation.
  • Document business impact, troubleshooting performed, and final resolution.
  • Prioritize issues affecting customer releases, order processing, shipping, ASN transmission, invoicing, and other customer-facing processes.
  • Participate in escalation and after-hours support during cutovers, hypercare, major releases, and critical business incidents.
  • Develop deep functional knowledge of SAP SD, CRM, EDI, customer master data, pricing, scheduling agreements, deliveries, shipping, billing, and related integrations.
  • Maintain functional configuration, process flows, interface documentation, customer-specific requirements, and key decision records.
  • Support data quality for customer, ship-to, customer-material, pricing, scheduling-agreement, EDI partner, packaging, labeling, and related master data.
  • Understand integration with PP, MM/WMS, FI, MES, and other systems while maintaining primary ownership of the SD/CRM/EDI area.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot SAP IDocs, EDI transmissions, middleware jobs, customer portal interfaces, CRM integrations, WMS shipping interfaces, and related batch jobs.
  • Diagnose issues involving customer demand, scheduling agreements, sales orders, deliveries, ASNs, invoices, acknowledgments, master data, mappings, and blocked SAP documents.
  • Trace transactions across system boundaries and identify the point of failure.
  • Coordinate resolution with application, infrastructure, network, and vendor teams.
  • Identify recurring failures and drive corrective actions through configuration, master-data, process, or interface improvements.
  • Support SAP S/4HANA and connected-system implementations through requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, configuration validation, testing, defect management, and retesting.
  • Coordinate integration testing and UAT with business users.
  • Support cutover, data validation, migration, EDI setup, interface activation, go-live, and hypercare.
  • Support future releases, upgrades, enhancements, and additional site deployments.
  • Build and maintain operational reports, queries, and dashboards.
  • Investigate discrepancies involving orders, deliveries, shipping, ASNs, billing, CRM, and EDI.
  • Maintain work instructions, quick-reference guides, known-error documentation, and user training materials.
  • Train and support business users, key users, and super users.
  • Support application roles, authorizations, and periodic access reviews.
  • Progress toward Level 3 capability by taking ownership of defined configuration areas and writing functional specifications for reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms.
