Application Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively engage customers to sell Novaspect products and solutions
- Develop technical solutions to customer specifications and requirements using products and services provided by Novaspect
- Articulate specialized features and benefits of Novaspect products to customers
- Understand and implement pricing strategies, marketing, and account management plans with Outside Sales and other operations team members
- Prepare accurate, timely quotations and bid proposals that align with customer requirements
- Follow up on all quote opportunities with customers to close sales
- Troubleshoot customer technical questions; provide aftermarket product support
- Develop customer relationships to earn status as their trusted advisor
- Remain knowledgeable and up to date on changes and developments in products, applications, and industries
- Actively participate with team members to achieve company goals
RequirementsApplication Engineer Qualifications:- Engineering degree required; equivalent technical or industry experience may be considered
- Previous experience with valves, actuation, instrumentation, or industrial automation products is preferred
- Previous experience developing technical or industrial quotations is preferred
- Strong computer skills, including the ability to learn and work within CRM, quoting applications, vendor tools, and portals
Application Engineer Competencies:- Mechanical aptitude and ability to develop working knowledge of Novaspect products, customer applications, and technical sales requirements
- Ability to interpret customer requirements and apply sound judgment when developing technical and commercial solutions
- Ability to balance responsiveness to customers with accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Ability to manage time well and handle multiple priorities while maintaining a positive attitude and composure
- Quickly learns and applies new products, technology, tools, and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proven ability to build and support teamwork
- Highly accountable and internally motivated by challenges
Application Engineer Physical Requirements:- Ability to work extended hours on a computer
Application Engineer Pay:- Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000
- Potential Bonus: 15%
The final offer will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in the position.
