Position Overview:
WR Immigration seeks a highly motivated and reliable Immigration Appearance Attorney with 1-2 years of experience handling immigration court appearances and/or in-person USCIS interviews. The ideal candidate will have experience appearing before the Immigration Court, strong oral advocacy skills, and the ability to effectively represent clients in immigration court hearings and USCIS proceedings. This position is largely remote, with in-person appearances required in the greater Los Angeles area as needed, as well as occasional travel to other cities for appearances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in immigration court appearances, including master calendar hearings, bond hearings, and other routine proceedings.
- Attend USCIS interviews and other agency appearances as needed.
- Provide hearing coverage and limited-scope representation on behalf of the firm.
- Review case materials in advance of hearings and appearances to ensure preparedness.
- Communicate hearing outcomes, procedural developments, and next steps promptly to supervising attorneys and legal staff.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure continuity of representation.
- Maintain professionalism and strong client communication during all appearances.
- Stay current with evolving immigration laws, court procedures, and agency policies.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to any bar.
- 1-2 years of experience in immigration removal defense, immigration court appearances, and/or USCIS interview representation.
- Strong oral advocacy, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle appearances professionally and efficiently.
- Familiarity with EOIR procedures and immigration court practice preferred.
