Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and management of critically ill neuroscience patients in the Neurocritical Care Unit.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Manage patients with conditions including:
    • Acute ischemic stroke
    • Intracerebral hemorrhage
    • Subarachnoid hemorrhage
    • Traumatic brain injury
    • Status epilepticus
    • Post-operative neurosurgical conditions
  • Interpret diagnostic studies including imaging, laboratory results, and hemodynamic data.
  • Perform procedures within scope of practice and institutional privileges.
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds and care coordination.
  • Document clinical encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.
  • Educate patients, families, nursing staff, and learners as appropriate.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects.

What We Require:

Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

Experience: 0

Licensure/Certification: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP), Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required or Physician Assistant. DEA licensure required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred. Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.

Other: Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers, good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.

Compensation Range:
$107,993.60 - $172,785.60
Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
