  • Conduct on-site imaging and diagnostic testing as needed.
  • Manage acute care transfers in a well-coordinated process with system EDs.

FirstHealth of the Carolinas — a private, not‑for‑profit healthcare system serving the mid‑Carolinas — is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Convenient Care Float Team. This role supports our seven Convenient Care locations, all operating with a consistent model of high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Position Highlights
  • Our 7 locations are open 8am – 8pm (closed on 4 recognized holidays).
  • All locations are within 1 hour of Pinehurst, NC.
  • Epic EMR.
  • Imaging and diagnostic testing on-site.
  • Well-coordinated process with system EDs for transfer of acute care needs.
  • Strong partnership between physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Be a member of the FirstHealth Physician Group, a team of 400+ hospital-employed providers.

Qualifications
  • PA: completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program and NCCPA certification.
  • NP: completion of a nurse practitioner education program and national certification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience treating all ages in an Urgent Care/Emergency Medicine setting is required, 4+ years of experience is highly desired.
  • Must be able to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, and discretion in decision-making.
  • Clean background, unrestricted NC PA/NP license, NC DEA, AHA BLS certification, and DOT certification required.
