The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for planning and directing the delivery of primary health care and health education programs at the Minor Med Centers. What you will do- Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients in the assigned center according to approved protocol and acceptable standards.
- Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to written, approved protocols developed with and under the supervision of the Medical Director/collaborating physician. Participates in the design and revision of protocols.
- Collaborates with Medical Physician and ancillary personnel as appropriate to promote quality care for patients. Makes referrals as appropriate.
- Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care. Understands, applies, and supports practice policies, procedures, goals and standards.
- Develops strong partnerships with patients, family members, fellow physicians/nurses and support staff. Focuses on high patient and family satisfaction and retention.
Education/Formal Training Requirements- Required - Master's Degree Advanced Practice Nursing
- Preferred - Master's Degree Nursing
Work Experience Requirements- Required - General nursing of clinical practice at the RN level 3-5 years

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Proficiency in applying advanced concepts, principles, and professional techniques in a specialized field of nursing. Such proficiency is acquired through completion of a master's degree or higher in a nursing specialty and is demonstrated through national specialty certification as a nurse practitioner.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership and teaching as acquired through experience in a community based clinic.
Supervision Provided by this Position- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.
Physical Demands- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
- Exposure to excessive heat or cold as required.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
- May require handling or administering of narcotics.
- Ability to read and write to communicate orally and in writing with other individuals.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without assistance and push and pull up to 250 lbs.
- Ability to sit in one place, stand, walk, squat, kneel, reach, twist, crawl, and bend.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motion, as well as using hands for gripping and squeezing.
- Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive coordinated motions.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
