ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a Senior API Gateway Engineer for a remote position. This role may require occasional travel to the client's site in Quantico, VA therefore it is preferred candidate is local to the Washington, D.C Metro area.
This an opportunity to use Large Solution Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) agile processes to develop, maintain, integrate, and operate cloud-hosted personnel security and assurance systems and applications, integrating their functionality into a modern system of system. This effort resulting system development solution supports thousands of users performing a critical national security mission.
What you'll do:
- Perform gateway administration and operations, including configuring and maintaining API gateway virtual appliances
- Configure policies for message transformation, protocol translation and service orchestration
- 24x7 support for troubleshooting issues involving API Gateways
- Create and maintain design documentation, including sequence diagrams and use cases for internal and external use
- Software deployment and patching
- Create update bundles between gateways using the Gateway Migration Utility
- Coordinate integration of SiteMinder and other identity providers with the API Gateway
- Design and implement API security protocols
- Optimize the performance of the API gateway by monitoring and analyzing system logs, identifying bottlenecks and implementing performance tuning measures
- Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and implement new features
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies related to API gateways and integration
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Education: 12 years with BS/BA; 10 years with MS/MA; 7 years with a PhD
- Certifications: Relevant DoD 8570 Security certification (such as CISSP or Security+)
- Clearance: Active TS clearance
- Requires in-depth experience with API Gateway, with exposure to ITSM Tools (Remedy, Service Now, JIRA Help Desk etc)
- Exposure to web services (SOAP, RESTful, XML, JSON, etc.)
- Knowledge of IT standards, methodologies, system development life cycle and project management frameworks.
- Local to the Washington DC Metro area (highly preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Mulesoft API products (Mulesoft certification desired)
Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
