Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Check all outstanding labs on in-house patients.
  • See post-op patients in the office setting.
  • Conduct pre-op evaluations and ensure completion of required documentation.
  • Interpret MRI, CT, and other imaging for accurate patient information relay.
  • Be available for on-call duties and weekend call responsibilities.

Summary:

Assists Physicians during general surgeries. Post operatively rounds on patients and manages patient care in the office setting

Job Description:

*Serves as Floor PA to start patient rounds and visit and manage patients.
*Prepares post op patient for discharge (prescriptions, , teaching, post surgical teaching) and dictates discharge summaries.
*Checks all outstanding labs on in house patients.
*Responsible for seeing post op patients in office.
*Responsible for seeing pre op patients in office and ensuring H & P s, data sheets, pre op orders & labs completed.
*Ability to interpret MRI, CT & other imaging and accurately convey information on patients to physicians.
*Serves as On call PA to check out with on call surgeon at end of day.
*Serves as Weekend call PA to meet with on call surgeon at designated location.
*Performs other functions as required.

Additional Job Description:

For Nurse Practitioner - masters degree in nursing, New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license, federal and state DEA license and ANCC or AAANP certification required. NM Board of Pharmacy (CSR) and Fee Paid Federal DEA required.
OR
For Physician Assistant - Baccalaureate prepared CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners required. Minimum of one-year experience in primary care or inpatient care setting required. NM Board of Pharmacy (CSR) and Fee Paid Federal DEA required.
