TITLE: HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Appropriate Massachusetts Licensure
  2. Bachelor's Degree with a major in Physical Education, Health or Exercise Science

REPORTS TO:

School Principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Teach skills, knowledge, and healthy attitudes based on Health Frameworks and curriculum.
  2. Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior for a productive learning environment.
  3. Participate in the development and implementation of Standards Based Units.
  4. Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school department and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
  5. Explain, interpret, and involve the entire school building staff, parents, and support services in the Comprehensive Health and Physical Education Program.
  6. Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing student health, attitudes, and learning problems.
  7. All other responsibilities listed in the collective bargaining agreement between the FREA and the Fall River School Committee.

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

In accordance with the Fall River Educators Association contract. Continued employment is contingent on work performance, program need, and funding. Salary ranges from $59,491-$105,164 from Step 2 to Step 12, Bachelor's Degree-CAGS/Doctorate Degree.
