Full Job Description
Responsible for the provision and coordination of care for the high and low risk antenatal, intra-partum, and postpartum women and neonates within a family/patient centered care framework. Contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
1. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. 2. BSN or Bachelor's Degree preferred. Advanced Fetal Monitoring and Certification in OB preferred.
Three years clinical experience in perinatal. Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act, patient's rights, accreditation standards and Title 22 regulations
Knowledge of teaching techniques, adult education, and evaluation methods.
Demonstrated ability to present self in a positive and professional manner. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Current licensure to practice registered nursing in the state of California required. Current AHA BLS required upon hire. ACLS, NRP certification as required by Department. These certifications must be completed before the 90 day provisional period and must always be completed prior to being assigned to full patient ( level 3 care- see cross training policy) care in that area.
