You will work closely with engineering leaders, senior engineers, and project stakeholders to improve test coverage, investigate failures, document defects, and provide clear release-readiness insights. This position requires a hands-on engineer who can work independently, write and maintain automation, analyze test results, and support software quality throughout the development and release lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, smoke, performance, and release validation scenarios.
- Validate software across prototype devices, builds, test environments, and release pipelines.
- Review automated test results, investigate failures, reproduce issues, and provide clear diagnostic information to engineering teams.
- Expand and improve automated test coverage for high-priority scenarios, critical functionality, and release-blocking risks.
- Contribute to scalable automation frameworks, test infrastructure, and CI/CD test integration.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain prototype devices or test environments used for automated test execution.
- Conduct automated smoke tests to confirm device, build, and environment readiness.
- Identify, document, and escalate defects, quality risks, test gaps, recurring failures, and potential release blockers.
- Use bug tracking systems to document issues, provide reproduction steps, verify fixes, and support issue closure.
- Prepare and maintain test plans, test procedures, scripts, execution reports, coverage summaries, and release-readiness documentation.
- Partner with engineering, PM, and project leadership to communicate test status, defect trends, quality risks, and recommendations.
- Support release validation, regression testing, post-release verification, and readiness assessments.
- Adapt to changing priorities while independently driving assigned technical work to completion.

- Experience documenting defects in bug tracking systems and collaborating with developers through resolution.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with engineering, PM, and project leadership teams.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Redmond, WA, Monday through Friday.
Preferred Qualifications- Android or mobile operating system testing experience.
- Experience supporting validation for prototype devices, hardware-adjacent software, or pre-release product environments.
- Experience with automation framework design, implementation, integration, or maintenance.
- Experience supporting release validation, regression testing, and post-release verification.
- Experience configuring test devices, test environments, or automation setups.
- Experience producing coverage metrics, defect reports, release-readiness summaries, and risk assessments.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment with limited supervision.
- Experience collaborating with senior engineers or technical leads on automation strategy, framework improvements, and failure analysis.
