What will you do?

The Inventory Supervisor will oversee a small team that is expected to grow and will work closely with our Production, Planning, and Purchasing departments. Reporting to the Director of Warehouse and Inventory Management, you will have the autonomy needed to achieve your objectives.

This is a highly visible position with exposure to both local and national leadership, offering an excellent opportunity to grow within the organization.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and active listening skills and will be comfortable taking on challenges. You will have the opportunity and autonomy to propose and implement solutions to improve inventory efficiency.
Responsibilities

Manage inventory levels to achieve established targets:
  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels at the plant and external warehouse to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Develop action plans to achieve inventory-level targets established by management.
  • Develop strategies to optimize the use of storage space while minimizing inventory-related costs.
  • Regularly present progress, KPI results, and required corrective actions to management.

Maintain SAP WM and IM modules:
  • Monitor statuses in LL01.
  • Validate WM operating parameters and ensure required corrections are made.
  • Validate the proper execution of interplant transactions.

Develop and monitor KPIs:
  • Develop relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of inventory management.
  • Regularly update KPIs based on operational needs and company objectives.

Manage cycle counts and physical inventory:
  • Organize and oversee regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure internal control objectives are achieved.

Actively participate in the annual physical inventory:
  • Prepare the shop floor and system for the annual inventory count conducted during the July production shutdown.
  • Be present and actively participate in coordinating and carrying out the annual inventory count, including investigating, analyzing, and resolving discrepancies.

Team supervision:
  • Manage the inventory team, including training, development, and performance.
  • Allocate tasks fairly and effectively across the team to ensure optimal inventory management.
What will you need to succeed?
  • University/college degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Solid previous experience in inventory management, production management, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the inventory module of an ERP system, preferably SAP, as well as Excel.
  • Experience managing employees.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively manage a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with different departments.
Bilingualism Required

The successful candidate for this position must be bilingual. Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written, is required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position for one or more of the following reasons:
  • The position requires interaction with English-speaking customers and suppliers in Canada and/or abroad.
  • The position requires regular interaction with Siemens colleagues located outside Quebec, elsewhere in Canada, and internationally.
  • The position requires the use of technologies or software that are available only in English.
