Position Title: Senior Cost Accounting Analyst

Department: Accounting / Finance

Location: Easton, PA (Corporate Headquarters)

Reports To: Cost Accounting Supervisor

Position Summary:

We are a dynamic and fast-paced organization committed to excellence and continuous improvement. The Senior Cost Accounting Analyst is responsible for month end cost accounting activities, standard cost inventory valuation, and financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. This role also supports new product costing, landed cost analysis, work center and router maintenance, along with other ad hoc cost analyses. The position collaborates closely with operations, finance, plant controllers, and supply chain teams to support strategic decision-making and maintain cost integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Accounting and Inventory Management
  • Perform annual standard cost updates for U.S. manufacturing sites, analyze BOM changes monthly to determine if standard cost updates are required, update transfer pricing on intercompany components
  • Analyze and maintain work center and router rates for site production
  • Partner with operations, engineering, FP&A, and supply chain to cost new products launches at different project stages from ideation to market commercialization
  • Perform month end closing activities including absorption analysis, journal entries, and reconciliation of production figures
  • Prepare weekly production figures to support Plant Controller meetings with Operations leadership
  • Participate in manufacturing and branch physical inventories


Financial Reporting, Analysis, and Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies
  • Prepare and review cost-related financial reports for management decision-making
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis for various Business Decisions/Financial Justifications
  • Support financial audits and legislative requirements related to manufacturing costing


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance
  • Proficiency in absorption accounting and managerial accounting principles with strong GAAP/IFRS understanding.
  • Experience with multi-site medium-to-large manufacturing entities (public or private)
  • Experience with ERP systems (AS400, Infor M3) and strong Excel/data analysis skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment


Valued Skills and Experience:
  • MBA, CMA, CPA, or other relevant certification(s)
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools (QlikView, QlikSense, etc)
  • Process improvement and experience in transitioning ERP systems
