(Junior) Analyst, Business Insights & Execution

ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The incumbent works in a team that supports SES tuning business performance, market and competitive data into decisions for senior leadership. This role owns the data engineering behind that work: the pipelines, automation and tooling the team runs on.

It is a specialist engineering role inside a strategy team. You will work close to the questions being asked, and your output regularly reaches the Chief Strategy Officer, the CEO's office and the Board.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
  • Own Business insights and Execution's automated data pipelines - ingestion, parsing, transformation and delivery of internal and external data. Work with data owners across the business to secure reliable access
  • Replace manual data work across the team with automation, including AI-based extraction of unstructured sources
  • Build and run the data layer behind OKR and strategy-execution tracking for Verticals and corporate programmes, including reconciling metric definitions into a comparable corporate view
  • Build and maintain the tools BIX delivers through - internal applications, dashboards and automated products. Document, train, iterate
  • Propose and build capability beyond the defined scope of the role. The remit is expected to grow well beyond the list above

COMPETENCIES
  • Sound judgement in working directly with senior stakeholders
  • Curiosity about why the numbers move, not only how the data moves.
  • Initiative - a record of tools or improvements you identified, proposed and delivered yourself
  • Ownership of systems end to end: build, monitor, fix, document
  • Ability to work autonomously across multiple priorities in a global, hybrid team

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics or a related field
  • 2-5 years building and maintaining production data pipelines or data-intensive applications
  • Strong Python and SQL, API integration, and end-to-end workflow automation
  • Hands-on experience with AI and LLM-based extraction, parsing or agentic tooling
  • Version control, and CI/CD or scheduled execution (e.g. GitHub Actions)
  • Power BI or Databricks, and Aerospace/Defence / Satcom / Telecom experience, are a plus

The US salary range for this full-time position is $68,700 - $115,100.

Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and geographic location. Individual compensation within the range is determined based on work location and a variety of factors, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and relevant education or training.

Additional compensation and benefits may apply depending on the location and terms of employment.
