Algorithm Engineer in our Colorado Springs, Colorado office. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in support of the
Ground-Based Radar (GBR) Digitization Program, a critical modernization effort focused on enhancing the nation's missile warning, missile defense, and space domain awareness capabilities.
Mission OverviewIn this role, you will support the modernization of legacy radar systems across eight Ground-Based Radar sites. These systems provide continuous surveillance, detection, tracking, and reporting of missile and satellite activity in support of
Missile Warning (MW),
Missile Defense (MD), and
Space Domain Awareness (SDA) missions.
The GBR Digitization Program is implementing a
common digital backend architecture and modernizing radar front-end systems to maximize standardization, improve maintainability, and enhance mission readiness across the enterprise.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Algorithm Engineer will design, develop, and optimize radar processing algorithms that enable target detection, tracking, and classification. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and refining digital signal processing (DSP), image formation, and radar processing algorithms.
Implementing logic for target detection, tracking, classification, clutter suppression, and motion compensation. - Creating mathematical models and high-fidelity simulations to validate concepts prior to hardware deployment.
- Collaborating with radar front-end and back-end engineering teams to ensure algorithms meet mission performance objectives.
- Establishing measurable, testable criteria to support verification and validation of system performance.
- Working closely with systems engineering teams to define future system designs that meet demanding mission requirements and operate reliably in austere, remote environments.
- Support modeling and simulation efforts and tools for algorithm prototyping, analysis and testing.
- As needed, develop and maintain a GBRD Algorithm Description Document (ADD).
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Orbital Dynamics, Physics, or a related discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience (additional experience, training, or certifications may substitute for degree).
- US Citizen; Currently possesses an Active Secret Clearance.
- Experience in radar system algorithm engineering and physics.
- Demonstrated experience with algorithm design, development, test (V&V).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience supporting DoD, MDA, U.S. Space Force, Air Force, or Intelligence Community programs.
- Experience with Integrated Tactical Warning / Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) systems or radar systems.

Pay Range:Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
