Full Job Description
We are seeking an Airworthiness/Quality Engineer who will provide technical expertise to support airworthiness, qualification, and risk assessment activities for aviation systems. This role is responsible for reviewing qualification data, analyzing risk assessments, evaluating engineering documentation, and offering technical recommendations that support cost, schedule, performance, and acquisition decisions. The engineer develops and coordinates key airworthiness documents and ensures all deliverables meet required standards and contractual obligations. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities
• Review qualification reports, test results, risk assessments, and mitigation recommendations.
• Provide technical recommendations for should-cost analyses, source selection, proposals, and other contracting evaluations.
• Analyze trade-off studies and assess competing technologies for cost, schedule, and performance impacts.
• Develop draft airworthiness documentation, including Airworthiness Releases, Contractor Flight Releases, qualification plans/specifications, substantiation reports, Safety of Flight reviews, design review materials, and interim/final statements of airworthiness.
• Coordinate airworthiness and design review activities in accordance with program requirements.
Required
• ABET accredited degree
• 3 years of related experience
• Experience with airworthiness processes, aviation qualification standards, or system safety assessments.
• Ability to review and interpret technical data, engineering documentation, and test/qualification results.
• Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and engineering trade-off analysis.
• Demonstrated experience supporting DoW acquisition, engineering programs (military rotary wing of fixed wing platform experience is highly preferred).
• Must have an in-scope DoW Secret security clearance
