Qualifications

Full Job Description
Your Team:

Join the Maintenance Engineering team, where technical expertise and safety are at the forefront of every operation. The Airframe Systems Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of Flair's fleet. This position involves overseeing airframe system maintenance, compliance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvements, all while minimizing aircraft downtime. The Airframe Systems Engineer works closely with maintenance teams, OEMs, and vendors to resolve technical issues efficiently.

This role is based on-site at our Calgary, AB (YYC) office.

A Day In The Life:
  • Airworthiness Compliance: Evaluate and implement Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins, and technical publications.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Provide real-time support for aircraft-on-ground (AOG) situations and complex maintenance issues.
  • Engineering Support: Develop Engineering Orders and maintenance procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Reliability & Improvement: Analyze fleet performance and recommend proactive solutions to prevent recurring defects.
  • Project Management: Lead aircraft retrofit campaigns, modifications, and special projects in collaboration with maintenance teams.
  • Collaboration: Work with OEMs, vendors, and internal departments to resolve system-related challenges and enhance fleet reliability.
  • Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate records in AMOS and support technical analysis for decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering - Aerospace.
    • Hold a valid Transport Canada AME M license.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 6 years of experience in aircraft maintenance engineering, technical services, or related roles.
    • Minimum of 4 to 5 years' experience on the Boeing 737 NG and/or MAX required.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Air Regulations (CARs).
    • Knowledgeable in computer-based maintenance software, AMOS is considered an asset.
    • Intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and data entry.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-stress, deadline-driven, ever-changing work environment while prioritizing tasks and assignments.
    • Demonstrated analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage projects to successful completion on tight timeframes.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Requirements:
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
    • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references.
    • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
    • Must have airline experience.
    • Must meet one of the education qualifications listed above.
