  • Complete required documentation for maintenance actions and final inspections accurately.
  • Operate support equipment for flight line maintenance and related tasks.
  • Assist in training Mechanic I and II staff regarding organizational level maintenance and unusual problems.
  • Collaborate as a team to support administrative operations and ensure all maintenance tasks are completed.

Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic II

Location: Kaneohe, HI

Position Summary:

V22 Osprey experience preferred.

The MV-22 Mechanic II will perform Organizational level troubleshooting, removal, replacement, and/or installation of MV-22 aircraft components which may be dependent upon Airframe/Hydraulic, Flightline/Drive Systems, or Avionics specialty.

Dependent upon specialty, job duties may include but are not limited to software, multi-function displays, slip-ring assemblies, wiring harnesses, generators, GPS, navigation systems, communications systems, Wiring Interface Assemblies, control units, azimuth switches, engines, gearboxes, rotor hubs, compressors, blades, APUs, fuel systems, drive shafts, flight controls, landing gear assemblies, hydraulic systems, flight controls and surfaces, actuators and hydraulic components, flight controls and rigging, structural and composite repair and all associated and related components.

As an MV-22 Mechanic 2, you must be able to accurately document all maintenance actions in accordance with applicable publications such as the 4790.2 series, IETMS, schematics, Technical Directives, and Standard Operating Procedures as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled, unscheduled, phase, calendar, conditional, and special inspections as required by Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs), IETMS, Technical Directives, and/or as assigned by Maintenance Control.


  • Remove, repair, inspect, troubleshoot, reinstall and/or replace aircraft component parts and assemblies as directed by approved maintenance manuals, procedures, schematics, blueprints, and/or Maintenance Control such as Blade Fold Wing Stow systems and components, drive systems and flight critical components, engines, gearboxes, environmental systems, rig flight controls and surfaces, Sliprings, FADECs, WIAs, BFCUs, CMS, and calibrate avionics systems, sub systems, and all related organizational level components and assemblies as may be required.


  • Remove, inspect, troubleshoot, reinstall and/or replace aircraft component parts and hydraulic components and assemblies as directed by approved maintenance manuals/procedures and/or Maintenance Control.


  • Perform structures and composite repairs in accordance with applicable manuals and Standard Operating Procedures.


  • Complete final inspections and work order completion requirements such as final signature, in-process documentation, and accurate removal and installation documentation on non-flight critical components as required.


  • Operate support equipment in support of all work center operations to include flight line maintenance and maintenance of installed aircraft systems/components and equipment for work center operations.


  • Responsible for assisting and training Mechanic Is and IIs with performing Organizational level maintenance while solving unusual maintenance problems by troubleshooting, testing, and repairing.


  • The MV-22 Mechanic II will assist in the training of personnel and enforcing safety standards in the workplace.


  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, service bulletins, technical data and directives, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.


  • Must be team oriented and productive to facilitate other maintenance and administrative operations as required.


  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of mission requirements.


  • Ability to perform physical tasks necessary to accomplish assigned maintenance.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Four (4) years actual and recent systems experience required.


  • Requires advanced knowledge of NALCOMIS reporting system to report and document any discrepancies and repairs while performing maintenance and inspections.


  • Advanced knowledge of Naval Aviation Maintenance Publications such as the 4790.2 Series and IETMS to assist in troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions and discrepancies.


  • MV-22 Mechanic 2s will be required to complete the CDI qualification syllabus withing 90 days of employment.


  • Previous CDI required. MV-22 CDI experience preferred.


  • CDI, APU, BFWS, EWIS, Tow Driver, Hydraulic Contamination, Tire and Wheel and all support equipment as directed.


  • Candidates are required to supply their own tools; specialty tools will be provided.


  • Must be able to obtain & maintain a DoD Public Trust as required and receive a common access card (CAC) for base access and Military Websites. Note: US Citizenship is required.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $46.87 per hour. Plus $7.30 per hour, up to 40 hours per week, for Health & Welfare.
