Aircraft Maintenance Technician I

Definition: This is the entry and first working level for certificated Airframe and Powerplanttechnicians. Incumbents at this level work under the guidance of a Lead Technician and inspectand repair aircraft, engines, and components, and return aircraft to service.

Minimum Qualifications: Possession of the following certificates: FAA Airframe & PowerplantTechnician92s Certificates and a valid Class-C Driver92s License. Prior Black Hawk experience highly desired.

Knowledge and Abilities: FAA federal aviation regulations pertaining to the maintenance andrepair of aircraft; FAA-approved maintenance practices, techniques, and procedures; and aircraftshop maintenance operational procedures. Work under the general guidance of a lead or journey
level technician and perform maintenance and repair to aircraft, engines, propellers, rotors, andcomponents in accordance with approved procedures; learn various aircraft maintenancerequirements, standards, and procedures; determine the airworthiness of airframe and enginecomponents; inspect systems for proper operation and condition. May perform Confined SpaceEntry Maintenance to include aircraft fuel tank repairs.

** Expect approximately 10% - 50% travel, including overnight stays, to fire bases throughout California**

Salary and Other Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $51.71 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include [geography/market, skills,education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.]
