AI Enablement Engineer II to join our team in Durham, NC.
Location: Durham, NC.
Applicants who live within 35 miles of Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in office days per week in Durham, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.
Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.
Job Responsibilities- Develop and maintain hands-on AI enablement assets including labs, workflows, reference implementations, and technical examples aligned to enterprise-approved AI tools and platforms.
- Partner with AI Engineering, Platform, and Product teams to translate approved AI capabilities into reusable, teachable technical patterns.
- Collaborate with the Office of Information Security, Legal, Privacy, and Compliance to embed Responsible AI, data protection, and security requirements into enablement materials.
- Translate enterprise AI policies, standards, and guardrails into clear, actionable technical guidance.
- Support multiple business lines and functional teams while maintaining consistent enterprise standards.
- Serve as a technical authority during AI training sessions, workshops, labs, and office hours by troubleshooting issues and resolving edge cases.
- Plan and lead AI training sessions end-to-end, including agenda design, facilitation, delivery, and post-session follow-up.
- Serve as an internal AI advocate by building practitioner communities, showcasing approved use cases, and communicating updates on enterprise AI capabilities.
- Coordinate with Corporate HR and Learning partners to ensure technical accuracy and readiness of enablement content.
- Collaborate with approved external vendors and platform partners to ensure alignment with enterprise tooling, security, and governance requirements.
- Monitor adoption metrics and feedback to continuously improve enablement materials and technical patterns.
- Take ownership of assigned enablement initiatives and contribute to the evolution of enterprise AI education standards.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or Engineering.
- 5 or more years of experience working as a software engineer or AI engineer in an enterprise environment.
- 2 or more years of hands-on experience using generative AI tools or platforms in enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications- 2 or more years of experience supporting AI adoption, developer enablement, or internal platform enablement initiatives.
- 2 or more years of experience applying Responsible AI practices, including security, privacy, or compliance guardrails.
- 2 or more years of experience working across multiple business units or domains in a matrixed enterprise environment.
- 2 or more years of experience facilitating technical training, workshops, or community-based enablement programs for enterprise users.
Additional Job Standards- Understanding of identity management, access control, data protection, and governance considerations in enterprise environments.
- Experience collaborating with Security, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and Platform teams.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong facilitation and influence skills with the ability to drive adoption through enablement and community engagement.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

About the RoleThe AI Enablement Engineer II designs, builds, and supports the technical foundations that enable safe, scalable adoption of enterprise AI technologies across Labcorp. This role operates at the intersection of AI engineering, governance, security, and learning, translating approved AI tools, platforms, and policies into practical, hands-on enablement experiences.
This position develops labs, workflows, reference implementations, and guardrails that allow employees and contractors to confidently apply AI in regulated environments. The role partners closely with AI Engineering, Platform, Security, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure all technical enablement aligns with enterprise AI strategy, governance, and policy requirements, while also driving adoption through technical leadership and community engagement.
