Title: BASE Site Coordinator

Position Summary: Wayland School Community Programs (WSCP) seeks a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as the Best After School Experience (BASE) Site Coordinator at Claypit Hill Elementary School. The Site Coordinator is responsible for planning, supervising, and implementing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate K-5 after-school program that reflects BASE's philosophy and mission. The Coordinator ensures a safe, nurturing, and engaging extended-day environment, leads staff, supports families, and collaborates closely with school administration.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to): - Lead the after-school team in developing and implementing developmentally appropriate programming.
- Plan, organize, and oversee after-school activities and group transitions.
- Create and maintain a nurturing, inclusive, and safe environment for all children.
- Provide instructional support activities to enhance the extended day learning environment.
- Maintain master rosters for the Extended Day site, including schedule changes and new enrollments.
- Track daily attendance and ensure accurate documentation.
- Collect and manage Extended Day paperwork and registrations.
- Supervise site staffing and coordinate scheduling around absences and changes.
- Track and report weekly payroll for on-site staff.
- Create supply lists and assist in monitoring site supply needs.
- Communicate regularly with the administration regarding site needs and updates.
- Regularly check and respond to email and phone messages from families, school staff, and the Community Education office.
- Supervise, observe, mentor, and evaluate staff performance annually.
- Coordinate and facilitate site staff meetings as needed.
- Ensure staff maintain program standards, expectations, and safety protocols.
- Serve as the primary BASE liaison with building administration.
- Answer questions from families via email and phone regarding site-specific matters.
- Provide ongoing site-specific communication to families throughout the year.
- Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and, when necessary, legal authorities.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed
- Demonstrate knowledge of child development principles and behavior management practices.
- Manage student behavior with positive, consistent strategies.
- Recognize and address concerns related to students' social, emotional, or physical well-being.
- Maintain confidentiality of all student and school information at all times.
- Demonstrate patience, flexibility, creativity, sound judgment, and sensitivity in response to changing situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Wayland School Community Programs.
Qualifications: - Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Special Education Experience
- Knowledge of child development theory and principles.
- Ability to supervise and support a team in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of first aid and CPR principles and practices.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or related field preferred.
Minimum of (4) years of leadership and activity planning experience.
Current First Aid, CPR, CPI, Safety Care, and Epi-Pen training required (or willingness to obtain).
Special Education experience preferred.
Pay: $37.52 - $42.62 per hour, based on qualification and experience
Work Schedule: - 193-day position (10 months)
35 hours per week - Assigned Hours: 10:45 AM - 6:15 PM (7.5 total hours per day) and Includes a mandatory, 30-minute unpaid and duty-free meal break to be taken daily 7.0 paid hours
- The daily schedule includes both direct student program hours and dedicated administrative/preparatory time. No additional hours outside of this daily schedule are authorized without prior written approval from the Director.
- After-school hours aligned with the elementary school dismissal schedule
