Aerospace Engineer

Huntsville, AL

Brown Technologies is currently seeking an Aerospace Engineer who is a self-starter supporting the USG customer.

DESCRIPTION: We are seeking an Aerospace Engineer with a strong background in aviation acquisition program management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing aviation programs, with a preference for candidates who also have technical expertise in structures, propulsion, and/or dynamic components.

This role requires a thorough understanding of systems engineering, airworthiness certification, aviation testing, and Statements of Work (SOWs). Candidates with Army aviation acquisition program management experience are strongly preferred, though Navy or Air Force aviation acquisition experience is also acceptable. Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is a plus. This position is critical to driving program success, ensuring compliance with aviation standards, and fostering collaboration across teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and manage aviation acquisition programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
  • Provide technical oversight and guidance in structures, propulsion, and/or dynamic components.
  • Develop, review, and manage SOWs to ensure clarity and alignment with program requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support airworthiness certification and aviation testing efforts.
  • Apply systems engineering principles to integrate and optimize program components.
  • Support MBSE initiatives to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government and industry partners.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in aviation acquisition program management (Army preferred; Navy or Air Force acceptable).
  • Strong technical knowledge in structures, propulsion, and/or dynamic components.
  • Thorough understanding of systems engineering principles, airworthiness certification processes, aviation testing, and SOW development.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.


Preferred:
  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with MBSE tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Army aviation acquisition programs and processes.
