Team Overview:

The Export Help Hub is a digital service offering part of EDC's Knowledge Business team and serves as a trusted source of trade expertise for Canadian businesses. We provide practical guidance, answers, resources, and referrals that help exporters make informed decisions and move forward confidently in their international growth journey.

What you will be doing:

As an Export Knowledge Base Manager & Advisor, you will combine your trade expertise, customer focus, and curiosity to help businesses solve complex export challenges. You will also play an important role in the continued evolution of the Export Help Hub, contributing to the knowledge base that powers both advisor-delivered and AI-assisted responses. This includes identifying knowledge gaps, improving content quality, maintaining trade intelligence resources, and helping train and refine the hub's Generative AI capabilities. This role blends advisory services, knowledge management, and digital innovation.

This role is market-facing in that it requires the incumbent to interact with internal and external parties, including customers, in a team-based but independent manner with limited supervision on a day-to-day basis.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, entrepreneurial, and hands-on professional who can independently identify priorities, bring forward ideas, and create structure in an evolving environment. You are passionate about trade, curious and highly adaptable, comfortable taking intelligent risks in a fast paced and dynamic environment. You are also excited about using your expertise to contribute to our digital product development projects that will empower other teams at EDC and its customers with knowledge, connections and expertise.

In this role you will:
  • Own the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Export Help Hub knowledge base by creating, updating, validating, and organizing content.
  • Establish and maintain content standards, governance practices, and review processes to ensure knowledge remains accurate, current, and trustworthy.
  • Respond to export-related inquiries from Canadian businesses through a variety of channels, including email, web, chat, social media, and phone.
  • Provide guidance on topics such as international sales and marketing, customs and compliance, market intelligence, export regulations, risk mitigation, and trade practices.
  • Monitor and help improve the quality of AI-generated responses by identifying content gaps, validating outputs, tagging knowledge, and supporting continuous learning and optimization of the Generative AI experience.
  • Research and synthesize information from internal experts, content repositories, and external trade resources to deliver practical, client-focused recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to connect companies with relevant EDC products, services, and expertise.
  • Contribute insights from customer interactions to improve products, services, processes, and digital experience that support innovation initiatives in the team.

What we are looking for:
  • Undergraduate degree in International Business, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in international trade, export advisory services, business consulting, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian export ecosystem, including government and private-sector resources available to exporters.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience engaging directly with clients and translating complex information into practical advice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French

What will make you stand out:
  • Experience supporting small and medium-sized businesses in areas such as international business development, supply chain management, customs and trade compliance.
  • Experience managing knowledge bases, content repositories, content governance, or digital information systems.
  • Familiarity (even if through personal projects) with generative AI knowledge management, prompt design, and/or quality assurance.
  • Certified International Trade Professional (CITP), Certified Trade Specialist (CTS) designation or experience as a Trade Commissioner or Trade Officer.
