Status: Regular Full Time
Salary Range: Non Union; Salary Band J
Hiring Range: $120,401-$135,451 per annum, plus comprehensive benefits and vacation accrual
Work Mode: Hybrid; 2 On site days per week which can increase based on operational needs *see below for more details about this work mode.
Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton ON
Hours of work:35 Hours per week
Reports to: Manager, Housing System Performance
What you will do in this role:
The Advisor, Housing Innovation and Progrm Design manages the development and execution of the long-term planning for prioritized challenges and opportunities in the housing and homelessness system.
What the role requires:
A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted).
Post-secondary education in Human Services, Political Studies, Public Policy, or a related field, combined with a minimum of 5 years of experience in housing policy, program development, planning, or strategy.
Strong knowledge of housing legislation, policies, and programs, including the Housing Services Act, Residential Tenancies Act, and Ontario's community housing framework.
Experience developing and implementing strategies, plans, programs, and initiatives that support organizational and community objectives.
Proven experience leading complex projects and programs involving multiple stakeholders, using project management and process improvement methodologies.
Minimum 3 years of leadership and/or supervisory experience, including coaching, mentoring, and supporting staff performance and development.
Knowledge of public policy development, policy analysis, and evidence-informed decision-making practices.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with experience using research, data analysis, performance measurement, needs assessments, and legislation to evaluate issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
Experience establishing performance measures, monitoring outcomes, and recommending improvements to enhance program and service delivery.
Knowledge of innovation and service design methodologies such as Design Thinking, Human-Centred Design, Systems Thinking, Experience Design, and Futures Planning.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and provide expert advice and recommendations to senior leaders, elected officials, government representatives, and community stakeholders.
Exceptional communication, presentation, facilitation, and public engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Strong relationship-building, collaboration, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Highly developed political awareness, judgment, and diplomacy, with the ability to navigate sensitive issues and competing interests.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, change management, and continuous improvement.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
