***Acute Care PNP required upon hire***

As a member of the Inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team, the APP's focus is providing care for patients undergoing cellular therapy related to a variety of oncological, hematological, and other non-malignant disorders. This includes, but not limited to, the diagnosis and treatment of bone marrow failure syndromes, aplastic anemia, relapsed/refractory leukemias, immunodeficiencies, and certain genetic disorders. The APP will be a part of a team of providers and nurses, providing direct patient management which includes evaluating patients, ordering/interpreting laboratory tests, developing differential diagnoses, and implementing plans of care. The Inpatient BMT APP is expected to work effectively with the medical team by communicating clearly with families, working well with physicians, being a resource to nursing staff, and collaborating with multiple subspecialities. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for patient care, teamwork, and an enthusiasm to grow their advanced practice career caring for the pediatric bone marrow transplant/cellular therapy population.

The APP has a variety of roles providing inpatient management of children receiving a bone marrow transplant or cellular therapy. The APP sees patients independently and in conjunction with physicians throughout the day. All patients require close monitoring due to the complexity of their diagnosis and treatment course. This includes reviewing labs and radiologic imaging, evaluating complications, collaborating with specialties including, but not limited to intensive care and infectious disease, and educating patients and their families. These encounters build a holistic relationship of trust that is vital to their overall health outcomes. This role has many nuances that make it continually challenging and rewarding. We have an amazing multidisciplinary team that works closely on communicating issues, collaborating new ideas, and developing the best care for all patients.

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse I (APRN-I) provides comprehensive, evidence-based advanced practice nursing to address the physiologic, psychosocial, and developmental needs of patients and families within the framework of the collaborative practice agreement. The APRN-I participates in beginning leadership, evidenced-based practice/ research, and organizational development activities with the support and direction of an experienced APRN mentor.
