Position DescriptionEmployees in this position are responsible for augmenting a supervising physician's data gathering abilities to reach decisions and institute patient care plans. Provides health care services to patients at the
Bell County Jail in Belton, TX under direction and responsibility of a Physician.
Major/Essential Functions- Provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in an outpatient health facility.
- On-call medical services availability: During scheduled "On-Call" hours, is available to connect with the onsite clinic for virtual care services and in support of the onsite clinical team.
- Medical referral to physician, specialist partners, or other practitioners.
- Administrative activities: Coordinates with supervising physician and health facility director to strategize, plan, and execute health care services for patients that are clinically effective and efficient.
- Other duties: Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in the job classification and/or position description.
Pay StatementCompensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.
Required Qualifications- Graduation from a Physician Assistant's training program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association. Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas. Certification as a Physician Assistant as evidenced by passing the examinations given by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. OR
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a nurse practitioner from an approved certification program recognized by Texas Board of Nursing. Current R.N. license as approved by the Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer license to Texas. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an approved certification program as recognized by Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer certification to Texas.

Visa InformationTTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
