Description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider to join our multidisciplinary team and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes. Located in the Triangle of North Carolina, our region employs a team of over 70 APPs across all service lines including orthopedics, orthopedic urgent care, pain management and rehabilitation, as well as bone health. We also offer in-house radiology services including x-ray and MRI, in addition to Physical and Occupational Therapy.

We are looking for a Full-time, 8 am to 8 pm, Friday-Sunday Ortho APP in our Southeast region for our Ortho Urgent Care. The position is primarily clinic based; intermittent travel between offices and urgent care coverage is required. The ideal candidate will be expected to practice to the full extent of their licensure in conjunction with their supervising physician to provide patients with high quality, evidence-based medical care. Excellent communication and documentation skills are a must along with the ability to collaborate with patients and their healthcare team. There is the opportunity to participate in QI and research studies, if interested. Two years of ortho experience is required. Graduation from an accredited PA/NP program along with an unrestricted North Carolina license is required.

What We Offer:
  • Competitive Salary: Up to $213,500, inclusive of estimated base compensation, quarterly bonus, applicable stipends, retirement package, PTO, CME stipend, and applicable sign-on bonus
  • $10,000 Sign-on Bonus
  • Desirable Schedule: 4 days off per week

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Good knowledge of medical office software such as but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, and medical practice software
  • Familiarity with EMR programs
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent documentation skills

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
  • Patient evaluation by performing appropriate history and physical exams
  • Ordering laboratory, radiological and special studies
  • Performing diagnostic procedures such as, but not limited to, physical examination, phlebotomy, catheterization, joint injections and aspirations and administering of vaccines
  • Performing therapeutic procedures such as, but not limited to, suturing of wounds, foreign body removal, I&D of abscesses, reduction of fractures and dislocations, splinting, casting, and injections
  • Assisting the surgeon in the OR as designated
  • Reading and interpreting imaging studies and laboratory reports
  • Initiation of life-saving measures as needed
  • Diagnosing and treating minor illnesses of employees of EmergeOrtho, P.A.
  • Telephone contact with patients as appropriate.

Other
  • Involvement in QI and research programs.
  • Attendance at educational and department meetings.
  • Intermittent OR, UC, and other clinic coverage required.
