University of Colorado AnschutzDepartment: Medicine - CardiologyJob Title: Advanced Practice Provider (APP)/(PA/NP)/Cardiology/ ElectrophysiologyPosition #:00850091 - Requisition #: 40478Job Summary:The Division of Cardiology is recruiting for a full time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) position within the Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) Section. The work location for this position is UCH Highlands Ranch Hospital. The EP program is growing rapidly and has become the largest in the region, responsible for more than 10,000 patient encounters and procedures annually.
Examples of specific clinical work performed in this role include outpatient clinic seeing return patient visits and selected new patient visits requiring arrhythmia care for atrial fibrillation, cardiac rhythm device management, and ventricular arrhythmias; performing device interrogations; inpatient rounding on the EP consult and cardiology consult service; pre and post-procedural care; interpreting tilt table testing and mobile cardiac telemetry monitor reading; performing cardioversions and loop recorder implants. Other responsibilities may come up based on divisional and section needs.
Key Responsibilities:Primary Responsibilities:• Follow-up patient visits (evaluation and treatment) with physician collaboration when appropriate
• New patient visits (evaluation and treatment) with physician collaboration when appropriate
• Coordinate care for follow-up patients as needed (laboratory studies, procedures, follow-up calls and orders. etc.)
• Outpatient telemetry analysi
• Tilt table test interpretation
• Programming and monitoring device
• Inpatient rounding on the EP consult and cardiology consult service
• Pre and post-procedural care
• Performing cardioversions and loop recorder implant
Secondary Responsibilities:• Team based approach with other General Cardiology and sub-specialty services in the care and management of patient
• Serve as a liaison to the Cardiology Research Coordinators in the care/management of patients participating in or being considered for clinical trial
• Opportunities to participate and lead scholarly and research projects in quality improvement, program development, and electrophysiology/cardiology care.
Work Location:Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
• State of Colorado Certified Physician Assistant or Inclusion on the State of Colorado Advanced Practice Registry as an Advance Practice Nurse or
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or certification by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner
Preferred Qualifications:• 3-5 years of experience in the clinical management of complex cardiology patient
• Prior work history in a combined inpatient and outpatient setting with knowledge of cardiac procedure
• Experience in the management of electrophysiology patients is desired but not required
• Experience working independently as an advanced practice provider
• Cardiology experience is preferred
• ACLS Certified
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• Excellent communication skills to interact with multiple disciplines.
• Excellent bedside manner and physical exam skills.
• General Internal Medicine knowledge base.
• At least some experience in cardiovascular medicine.

HIRING RANGE:$100,000 to $130,000
