Overview

JOB SUMMARY

The Critical Care Advanced Practice Practitioner (APP), including Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs), will provide comprehensive medical care to critically ill patients in an acute care hospital setting. The APP will work in collaboration with supervising physicians and the interdisciplinary team to evaluate, manage, and treat patients requiring intensive care. Responsibilities include patient assessment, diagnostic interpretation, performing approved procedures, and providing life-saving interventions as necessary.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:

For Nurse Practitioners (NPs):

  • Current national board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AACN.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of ICU experience within the past two (2) years.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Documentation of clinical activity within the past 24 months (e.g., case log or procedural log).
  • Compliance with hospital Medical Staff Bylaws for Allied Health Professionals.

For Physician Assistants (PAs):

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program with structured clinical experience.
  • Licensed by the Medical Board of California to practice under an approved supervising physician.
  • Certification as a First Assistant in Surgical Services (if applicable).
  • Documentation of clinical activity within the past 24 months (e.g., case log or procedural log).
  • Compliance with hospital Medical Staff Bylaws for Allied Health Professionals.

Equipment:  Equipment appropriate to specialty area. Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.

 

Physical Requirements:  Must be able to perform the essential physical job requirements.

 

PAY RANGE

$64.41 - $96.61

 

The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change.  Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills.  For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
