Adult Program Nurse

Adult Program General Responsibilities

The Adult Program Nurse is responsible for the identification, management and resolution of health problems of individuals in the adult day and residential program. In addition, he/she is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the delivery of individual health care appropriate to the ages and populations served. The Nurse maintains operational aspects of assigned individual heath care areas and works collaboratively with the other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.

Schedule and Salary Information
  • Mon-Fri 8-4pm with occasional on call
  • From $80-95k annually

Adult Program Nurse Requirements

Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; Registered Nurse considered.

Certifications/Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse through the Massachusetts Board of Nurse Examiners. A valid US driver's license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old. Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status. Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirements. Successful completion of employer provided certification in CPR, First Aid, Crisis Intervention, and Melmark's Orientation Program and New Hire Onsite training program.

Skill(s): Strong general nursing skills with emphasis on the care of individuals who are emotionally, behaviorally, neurologically or developmentally disabled. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.

Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a developmental disabilities setting with minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience preferred.

Interrelationships: Interacts with all members of the multidisciplinary treatment team as required for the individual.
