Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Admissions Officer for Undergraduate Admissions - NB. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Applicant Evaluation.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Handles coordination of the review and notification of undergraduate applications for admission and scholarships for Rutgers University-New Brunswick undergraduate applicants who apply through the New Brunswick Undergraduate Admissions office and are maintained in Salesforce.
  • Discusses academic credentials, admissions parameters, and adherence to the University Senate Policy on Undergraduate Admissions; meets with admissions committees and resolves issues related to the above matters.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for the Rutgers Business School-New Brunswick and as a liaison to the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics.
  • Ensures that faculty committee decisions comport with University Senate Policy on Undergraduate Admissions, and the policies and protocols of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Knows and maintains compliance with NCAA regulations regarding the admission and initial undergraduate enrollment of Division I recruited athletes.
  • Participates in standard admissions counselor/officer duties, including student/family admissions counseling, presenting for information sessions, and fulfilling an assigned number of recruitment activities.
  • Develops and completes special projects as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and at least two years comprehensive experience in college admissions/enrollment management that include admission determinations, working with faculties and academic administrators, academic advising, group-leading, delegating, and ensuring completion of work assignments.


Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills including, writing and presentation/public speaking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required including the ability to be collaborative, persuasive, and diplomatic.
