Position InformationThis recruitment is promotional only. You must presently be a full or part-time regular or probationary County of Sonoma, Community Development Commission, Sonoma County Fairgrounds, or Sonoma County Water Agency employee in order to apply for this position. The Agriculture/Weights and Measures Department has requested a
county-wide promotional certification to fill an Administrative Manager position.

About the PositionAs the Administrative Manager in the Department of Agriculture/Weights & Measures, you will manage the department's administrative operations by overseeing human resources, fiscal services, budgeting, purchasing, technology resources, and administrative support functions. In this role, you will collaborate with department leadership to support operational priorities and organizational goals while ensuring the effective delivery of administrative services. Primary responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing supervisory and administrative staff, including two direct reports
- Coordinating administrative support services across the department
- Develop and implement department policies and process improvements
- Leading fiscal activities, including budget development, tracking revenues and expenses, funding analysis, and fee studies
- Serving as the department's Human Resources liaison for recruitment, classification, disability management, and other HR-related functions
- Collaborating with County departments to meet the needs and goals of the Department of Agriculture/Weights & Measures

Normally, two years of progressively responsible experience in a professional, human resources, administrative or fiscal staff position would provide such an opportunity. Education: Academic coursework which would provide the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, coursework in public administration, business administration, management, accounting, statistics, human resources or closely related courses would provide such an opportunity.
License: Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including necessary special endorsements, as required by the State of California to perform the essential job functions of the position.
