Job Summary and QualificationsThe Administrative Director of Nursing Operations, reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, provides strategic and operational leadership for multiple ancillary and clinical departments. This role ensures high-quality, effective, and compliant patient care while supporting organizational goals. The Director oversees departmental performance, budgeting, service integration, and key nursing outcomes-including Core Measures and HCAHPS-ensuring services effectively meet the needs of patients, physicians, staff, and the community.
- Develop, implement, and oversee high-quality, cost-effective, and integrated hospital, clinical, and ancillary programs that support the organization's mission and strategic goals.
- Provide leadership and management for clinical and ancillary departments, ensuring efficient, effective service delivery and high-quality patient outcomes.
- Support the CNO in advancing quality patient care, improving standards of care delivery, and overseeing nursing outcomes, including Core Measures and HCAHPS performance.
- Create and execute strategic and operational plans to maximize the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of Ancillary and Clinical Services.
- Manage financial performance, including budget planning, resource allocation, interpretation of budget reports, cost/benefit analyses, and implementation of cost-containment strategies.
- Ensure regulatory, legal, professional, and organizational compliance, maintaining awareness of social, economic, and legislative issues impacting healthcare operations.
- Promote positive patient and customer service experiences across all departments and units.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, drive necessary operational changes, and establish clear departmental goals while holding staff accountable for performance.
- Recruit, develop, motivate, and lead staff, ensuring effective delegation, timely performance evaluations, and the use of appropriate supervisory and management approaches to meet organizational goals.
- Develop and sustain effective quality and safety processes, including staff education on quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts for both departmental and hospital-wide performance.
- Collaborate across organizational boundaries, ensuring coordinated actions and understanding the broader implications of decisions and plans.
- Perform all duties within the RN scope of practice, including making critical care decisions and executing interventions based on clinical judgment, assessments, and multidisciplinary communication.
What qualifications you will need:Education:- Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
Experience:- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory nursing role required.
- 5+ years of experience in direct leadership in a hospital or patient care environment required.
Licensure, Registrations, Certifications:- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
