Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient care rounds and assess patient care requirements.

  • Ensure appropriate clinical staff presence during emergencies and expedite resources.
  • Debrief after emergencies and analyze situations for improvement.
  • Document incidents and present findings to the code committee.

Job Details

Our Nursing Supervisors:

  • Visits all Patient Care rounds to assess Patient care requirements and completes the daily supervision communication form. Identifies role to family, Physicians, staff and other departments.
  • Responds in emergency situations including RRTs and codes and ensures that only appropriate clinical staff are present and expedite any needed resources, tests and procedures. In addition, debriefs and analyzes the situation, completes documentationon debrief form and bringforth issues to thecode committee.

Education:

  • (BSN)required: Master9sdegree preferred. Currentlicense in NY state as a registeredProfessional Nurse. National Certification required or obtained within 6 months.

Experience:

  • Five(5) years of clinical experiencewithtwo ( 2) years of management and supervisory experience required.
  • Critical Care experience
  • Experience as RN manager, supervisor, or charge preferred.
  • BLS American Heart Association

Complexity:

  • With in-depth knowledge of hospital procedures: able to handle stressful situations. Requires team management skills and a problem solving attitude.
  • Must be capable of independent judgment and critical analysis related to urgent patient care and clinical issues.
  • Able to ensure smooth operation through day to day management and planning.
  • Maintains a positive attitude with attention to details.

Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations.
