What You Will DoThe Additive Manufacturing Process and Capability Center (AMPCC) encompasses a critical mass of Additive Manufacturing (AM) process and industrialization experts, the necessary equipment, and develops the strategic collaborations needed to rapidly mature the technology and manufacturing readiness of AM. The AMPCC is focused on the research, development and deployment of additive manufacturing tools and processes for our business units.
The Additive Manufacturing Discipline Lead will be responsible for one or more of the following activities as they relate to the AMPCC, including:
- Building and leading a team of highly skilled engineers to accelerate the adoption of AM at RTX
- Developing strategies for advancing and disseminating the technology to the industrial teams
- Coordinating with RTX AM development teams and production sites to transition products into production
- Identifying technology and skill gaps and creating plans to close those gaps
- Prioritizing team resources to meet project deliverables on time and budget
- Supporting proposal development activities for new projects, processes, and equipment
- Engaging with industry leaders, suppliers and machine OEMs on various projects and development opportunities
- Working cross-functionally to enable agility and eliminate roadblocks
- Leading RCCA activities, capturing lessons learned, and implementing corrective actions
- Supporting troubleshooting and correcting issues associated with process or equipment
- Managing department budget, resource allocation, and tracking program spending
Qualifications You Must HaveThe preferred candidate should have a strong understanding of engineering principles and hands-on experience working with additive equipment. Candidate must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment focused on innovation and delivery and have demonstrated both verbal and written communication skills including:
- Typically requires an advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience
- Prior experience with leading a team or complex projects and interfacing with multiple functions
- Highly visible, hands-on approach to leading and supporting an advanced technology development team
- Strong planning, problem solving, organizational, and project management skills including a highly dynamic project mix with competing priorities
- Hand-on experience with LPBF tools and equipment
Qualifications We PreferPreferred candidates for this position will have an MS or PhD in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field with a minimum 10 years of industrial experience.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
