Acquisition Program Manager: Deliver Next-Gen Capabilities to the Warfighter!
Are you a seasoned acquisition professional ready to lead the delivery of the military's most critical technological capabilities? The Support Branch is seeking an Acquisition Program Management Specialist to drive the execution of advanced systems, programs, and projects across the entire acquisition lifecycle.
In this high-impact position, you will be the bridge between cutting-edge technology and tactical warfare. Your mission is to lead diverse teams, manage strategic baselines, and oversee the successful fielding and sustainment of the experimental and operational software-based systems that directly improve warfighter readiness.
What You Will Accomplish:
As a senior acquisition expert within the Support Branch, your daily focus will span from strategic planning to rigorous program execution. You will:
- Command the Acquisition Lifecycle: Take full responsibility for the comprehensive management, direction, and execution of assigned systems, programs, or projects from initial development through full-scale deployment and sustainment.
- Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Lead diverse, matrixed Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) comprised of engineers, developers, and logisticians to coordinate efforts and align project execution with mission goals.
- Develop Overarching Acquisition Strategies: Architect and implement strategic acquisition plans, masterfully balancing traditional governance with agile methodologies to rapidly deliver capabilities to the field.
- Control Project Baselines: Maintain absolute control over cost, schedule, and performance baselines, utilizing rigorous metrics and risk management frameworks to keep high-visibility projects on track.
- Optimize Stakeholder & Contractor Performance: Serve as the primary liaison to senior leadership, optimizing stakeholder alignment, resolving critical issues, and actively managing contractor performance to ensure maximum output.
- Sustain Experimental & Operational Software: Directly manage the delivery pipelines that transition experimental prototypes into robust, operational software-based systems, ensuring our forces maintain a decisive technological edge.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain the appropriate security clearance
- May be required to travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours
- Designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP)
- Designated drug testing position
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
2. Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
3. Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and
maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
5. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.
6. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
