Overview

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Acquisition Analyst / Software Product Manager located at MacDill AFB, FL, in support of Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (SOF AT&L), Program Executive Office for SOF Digital Applications (PEO-SDA). PEO-SDA’s vision is to provide USSOCOM a “one-stop shop” for SOF software-intensive digital applications—delivering point-of-need knowledge, innovation, and software support to ensure SOF remains the premier information dominance force anywhere, anytime.

 

This role is primarily acquisition-focused—supporting program strategy, execution, compliance, and decision-quality program data—while also serving as a product-oriented leader helping translate warfighter needs into iterative, user-centered software outcomes. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of acquisition policy, program management, and agile software delivery to help enable rapid, measurable capability delivery to the warfighter.

 

This is a full-time position located at MacDill AFB, FL

Responsibilities

Acquisition Analysis & Program Execution (Primary):

  • Collect, analyze, and maintain program metrics, requirements inputs, and program artifacts from supported organizations.
  • Develop elements ofprogram acquisition strategies, and support/conduct portions ofmarket research.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and decision-support products on program status, policies, procedures, and milestone activities.
  • Supportcost/benefit analysis, price/cost analysis, and funding-rule compliance across multiple appropriation types.
  • Keep program information current; organize and coordinate program data for leadership decision-making.
  • Monitor and manage programcost, schedule, performance, and risk; formulate and track proposed mitigations.
  • Ensure program compliance with applicable policies and procedures; interpret regulations and directives to determine program impact.
  • Answer data calls and inquiries related to program policies, procedures, and execution status.
  • Participate in and support therequirements development processwith senior managers and government counterparts.
  • Determine requirements, develop goals/objectives, and support execution in accordance with approved plans; recommend policy/procedure updates as regulations change.
  • Identify and research ways to eliminate program bottlenecks and barriers to production; support government counterparts in developing solutions.
  • Oversee allocation of resources based on program priorities and validated requirements.
  • Analyze program effectiveness and efficiency; develop recommendations to improve program operations.
  • Coordinate program information with internal and external personnel as required.

Product Management & Software Delivery (Secondary):

  • Support product leadership by helping shape and communicate aproduct vision and roadmapaligned to USSOCOM/PEO-SDA priorities and warfighter needs.
  • Partner with government and technical teams to translate user needs into actionable, prioritized work (e.g., features, user stories, backlog inputs).
  • Champion user engagement and feedback loops to support delivery ofminimum viable capabilitiesand iterative releases.
  • Support execution approaches consistent with modern software delivery (e.g.,Agile, Lean, DevSecOps) and rapid delivery objectives.
  • Contribute to value and performance assessments by defining and tracking practical measures of progress, quality, cybersecurity posture, and user impact.

 

Qualifications

MinimumExperience:

Citizenship:Must be a US citizenClearance: Must possess and maintain aTop Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility.Certifications:DAWIA Practitioner Equivalency (DAWIA Level II equivalent) in the Program Management career field, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

Education:Bachelors degree in business, or a related discipline

Years of Experience:Minimum 10 years of acquisition experience, including:

  • Working knowledge of theDefense Acquisition System(DoDI 5000.02) and related policies
  • Demonstrated ability to support program execution in a software-intensive environment; experience supporting agile software delivery and/or modern acquisition pathways
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to develop clear, decision-ready briefings and written products.
  • Ability to interpret regulations/directives and translate them into actionable program guidance.
  • Experience managing or supportingcost/schedule/performance/risktracking and mitigation planning.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across stakeholders (government counterparts, contracting, technical teams, and operational users).
  • Familiarity with modern software delivery concepts (Agile/DevSecOps) and product planning/backlog
  • Deep understanding of agile software development principles and practices (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, DevSecOps).
