Summary

You will serve as an ACQUISITION & BUSINESS SPECIALIST - TECHNICAL PROGRAMS in the FIRE CONTROL & GUIDANCE BRANCH (SP23) of STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS.

Duties

Help

  • You will be recognized as an authority in leading and acquisition planning, contract oversight, and all aspects of contract management within the Branch.
  • You will recommend strategies to address contractor performance, recommend strategies for upcoming acquisition, and execute responsibilities overseeing the full life cycle of procurements within the Branch.
  • You will serve as a senior level Contracting Officer's Representative within the SP23 Branch, responsible for oversight and management of contract execution across multiple highly complex and contracts.
  • You will track contractor performance, deliverables, financial execution, and perform oversight of the day-to-day execution of the Prime Contractor.
  • You will apply a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess program performance, effectiveness of financial execution, and recommend courses of action to improve both contract and financial execution within the Branch.
  • You will maximize the use of allocated funding and increasing the efficiency of finite procurement resources.
  • You will perform a wide array of financial budget planning and execution, activities, recommending effective and proper use of allocated appropriations across all execution venues.
  • You will optimize the use of available resources to meet mission requirements and achieve Branch goals.
  • You will lead cross functional synchronization across the Financial, Acquisition, Program and Engineering teams within the Command to effectively execute the Branch mission.
  • You will meet procurement milestones to achieve successful acquisition and financial outcomes.
  • You will advise budget executors in the planning and execution of allocated funding, advising on strategies to maximize planning, value, and effective utilization of allocated dollars, across both contractors and Government work performers.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing contractor performance on large contracts, performing effective budget management, performing acquisition planning and procurement execution for multi-year complex contracts, and completing data analysis to assess performance.
