WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As an Acoustics Project Manager/Specialist, you will play a key role in both business development and project delivery. You will contribute to proposal preparation, client relationship management, and strategic growth initiatives, helping expand services into new markets and areas of expertise. You will lead and oversee noise and vibration assessment projects from planning through to completion, providing technical direction for site inspections, noise and vibration monitoring programs, acoustic modelling, data analysis, and the preparation of technical reports, regulatory applications, and mitigation recommendations. Working closely with technical staff and subject matter experts, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, defensible technical solutions.

In this role you will manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and field operations; collaborate with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams; and ensure compliance with applicable health and safety requirements. As a recognized technical expert, you will mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff, review and validate technical work products, support continuous improvement of assessment methodologies and data quality, and serve as a trusted advisor on noise and vibration matters

JOB DUTIES

• Lead and manage noise and vibration assessment projects from inception through completion, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, invoicing, and client communications.
• Plan, perform, and oversee field programs, including site inspections, noise and vibration monitoring, source identification, data collection, instrumentation management, and field operations in compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Analyze, interpret, and evaluate noise and vibration data; develop conclusions, mitigation measures, and practical recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
• Conduct and review acoustic modelling using industry-standard software, including CadnaA, Predictor, STAMSON, and other specialized tools.
• Prepare, review, and approve technical reports, regulatory submissions, environmental assessments, Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) applications, Environmental Activity and Sector Registry (EASR) registrations, spreadsheets, and supporting technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to manage acoustic scope, schedules, deliverables, and regulatory requirements on complex projects.
• Provide technical leadership, quality assurance, and expert advice on noise and vibration matters to clients, regulators, project teams, and stakeholders.
• Support business development activities by identifying opportunities, building client relationships, preparing technical proposals, and contributing to strategic growth initiatives.
• Mentor, train, and coach junior and intermediate staff, fostering technical excellence, professional development, and knowledge sharing.
• Drive continuous improvement by enhancing methodologies, standardizing data collection and analysis processes, and implementing best practices to improve efficiency and data quality.
• Provide technical support for regulatory hearings, litigation matters, and expert witness assignments, as required.
• Travel to project sites and work in varying field conditions, including occasional overtime, as project requirements dictate.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Science, Acoustics, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or eligibility to obtain registration, is considered an asset.
• 7+ years of experience in acoustical/vibration engineering (preferably in consulting environment).
• Demonstrated expertise in noise and vibration measurement, analysis, modelling, and mitigation.
• Proficiency with industry-standard of noise modelling software and methodology (e.g., CadnaA) and other supporting software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Strong understanding of applicable regulatory requirements, environmental assessment processes, and approval frameworks, including Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) applications and Environmental Activity and Sector Registry (EASR) registrations.
• Excellent technical writing, report preparation, and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Demonstrated experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, resources, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively liaise with clients, regulators, stakeholders, and internal project teams while providing trusted technical guidance.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities while working both independently and collaboratively.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle, with willingness to travel as required.
