Job DescriptionCoffman Engineers is seeking a talented and self-motivated
Acoustical Engineer/Consultant with
1-4 years of experience to join our Bay Area team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive acoustical consulting services-from initial feasibility studies through design, permitting, and construction support. We're looking for someone enthusiastic about collaboration, eager to grow within a multidisciplinary environment, and ready to bring energy and creativity to every project.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a technical field related to acoustics (Acoustical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, etc.).
- 1-4 years of experience in acoustical consulting.
- Proficiency with SoundPLAN (preferred).
- Ability to perform acoustical measurements using appropriate testing equipment.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary setting (preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Motivation to learn and adopt the latest technologies and practices.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to assist with design development and project reporting.
Responsibilities- Perform acoustical analysis and modeling for building and environmental projects.
- Conduct site measurements and testing using industry-standard equipment.
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for design teams and clients.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate acoustical solutions.
- Support permitting and compliance documentation throughout project phases.

The position is
hybrid where the staff are
in-person three days a week (minimum) and have the option to work remotely two days a week. The optional remote workdays of the week are currently Monday and Friday. These guidelines are reassessed periodically.
Compensation and Benefits- Approximate Base Salary - $75,000 to $98,000
- Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
- Competitive end-of-year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance
- Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change)
- 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution
