Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and implement AI-enabled solutions to improve Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and automate workflows.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for AR functions.
  • Negotiate with past due accounts; resolve payment issues promptly.
  • Lead and mentor the AR team, actively participating in collections and cash application efforts.
  • Communicate AR aging reports to internal departments and external stakeholders.

Full Job Description
The Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager reports to the Corporate Controller and is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounts receivable function, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, cash application, and account reconciliation activities. By leveraging data analytics and AI-driven solutions, this role leads efforts to optimize cash flow, reduce outstanding receivables, and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring compliance with company policies and financial controls. The AR Manager analyzes aging trends, resolves billing issues, and partners with cross-functional teams to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.

Essential Functions:
  • Act as product owner for AR platforms and AI-powered tools, driving adoption of solutions (e.g., Copilot and AR automation platforms) to improve collections effectiveness, cash application efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Evaluate and implement AI-enabled AR solutions to optimize DSO, automate collections workflows, and provide predictive insights into customer payment behavior.
  • Ensure effective and efficient processing of accounts receivable functions, including customer billing, collections, customer portal data, cash application, customer credits and other activities related to accounts receivable.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all functions within the department.
  • Maintain a positive and effective relationship withcross-functionalstakeholders.
  • Negotiate with past due accounts and resolve all payment issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensuretimely turnaround on credit review process and oversee management of customer credit files.
  • Act as Accounts Receivable representative with strategic customers including collections, account reconciliation, EDI, technology improvements and other activities on an as needed basis.
  • Leadand coachthe teambyactively completingcollections, cash application, credit issuance, and other activities related to AR as needed.
  • Review and prepare the AR aging for communication with the AR team, internal departments and external communications as needed.
  • Maintain and update accurate financial records.
  • Maintain cash receipts and refer accounts to collection agencies, if necessary
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directlyhire and lead a team ofAccounts Receivable professionals.
  • Foster a positive andproductivework environment, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoringas needed to achieve a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Conduct regular 1:1's to address performance, feedback and relationship building.
  • Identify training and development needs within the team and facilitate as able.

Experience and Necessary Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent experiencerequired.
  • 4+ years ofAccounts Receivable experiencerequired. 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience evaluating, implementing and utilizing AR Automation software preferred.
  • Proven experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong intellectual curiosityand analytical thinking, seeks to understand the how and whywhiledriving results.
  • Demonstrated ability toimprove processes and deliverables, reduce errors, streamline, and simplify.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize critical path responsibilities

  • Good interpersonal skills; maintains effective working relationships
  • Understandingof503B regulatory requirements, cGMP standards, and USP guidelinesisa plus!
  • Proficient written, verbal and oral English communication skillsare required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools including Outlook, Microsoft, and Excel.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 25 pounds periodically.
