The Opportunity
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information. This role supervises accounting staff, supports month-end and year-end close activities, maintains compliance with company policies and accounting standards, and assists with process improvement initiatives. The Accounting Supervisor serves as a key resource for the Controller and Finance leadership team.
Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
- Supervise the daily activities of the accounting department, including general ledger, fixed assets, and reconciliations.
- Review accounting transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Monitor workload distribution and prioritize team responsibilities to meet departmental deadlines.
- Assist in maintaining internal controls and identifying opportunities to strengthen financial processes.
Month-End and Year-End Close
- Coordinate and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules.
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and properly documented.
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances.
- Assist with preparation of financial reports and management reporting packages.
- Support annual audits and provide requested documentation to external auditors.
Staff Leadership and Development
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Assist with employee goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
Financial Compliance and Controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain documentation supporting accounting transactions and financial reporting.
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement efficiencies within accounting workflows and reporting processes.
- Participate in ERP implementations, upgrades, and system enhancement projects.
- Assist with automation initiatives that improve accuracy and productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to improve financial processes and reporting.
Qualifications
Skills and experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Education, certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance/Accounting is required. A CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus.
- Minimum five years of experience in an accounting supervisory position.

Pay Transparency
$110,000 - $130,000 Annually
This range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, education, location, and business needs. This position may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation based on the nature of the position, individual, department, and/or company performance.
Travel Requirements
Travel is required as an essential function of this role. Travel may be conducted via automobile, air, or other modes of transportation, including the use of company fleet vehicles, and may require overnight stays as needed. Employees operating company vehicles are expected to comply with all applicable company policies and driving requirements, including maintaining a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
Work Environment
This roleoperates in a office environment, with regular collaborationwithin andacross teams. The position involves extended periods of sitting, computer use, and virtual communicationand interaction. Physical requirements may includelifting upto 20 pounds and general movement within an office setting.
