Responsibilities: - Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure transactions are accurate, complete and recorded on a timely basis.
- Supporting the monthly Routine Management to ensure all critical elements are completed within the AP/AR teams.
- Lead and oversee the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting, while ensuring appropriate controls, processes, and accountability across the accounting function.
- Own key accounting processes and balance sheet accounts, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, liabilities, debt and other assigned areas.
- Lead and support the month-end close process, ensuring financial information is accurate, complete and delivered within established deadlines.
- Support the analysis and review for financial results and reconciliations, investigate variances and unusual activity, and ensure issues are appropriately resolved.
- Establish and maintain effective financial controls, approval processes and accounting procedures, ensuring appropriate documentation and accountability.
- Identify process inefficiencies and control gaps and lead initiatives to improve the accuracy, efficiency and flow of financial information.
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support management decision-making and partner with operational teams to improve financial processes.
- Act as a key escalation point for complex accounting matters, resolving issues where possible and escalating significant or judgmental matters to the Controller.
- Support the Controller with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit requirements and other financial initiatives as required.
The salary range for this position is $107,000 to $115,00 per year.

This is a hybrid role, working 2 to 3 days in the office ( The Roundhouse, Downtown Toronto or Evan's Avenue, Etobicoke) and 2 to 3 days from home.
Skills and Experience: - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management experience.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation or progress toward a CPA designation is an asset.
- Strong full-cycle accounting experience, including month-end close, financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets and other areas of financial accounting.
- Strong technical accounting and financial analysis skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes and explain the drivers behind financial results.
- Experience with a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and financial processes, with an ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Strong Excel and ERP skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or a similar ERP system is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to independently manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively partner with both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
- Proactive, hands-on and solutions-oriented, with strong judgment and a demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand broader financial and business implications.
