Description

Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for applying GAAP standards to financial information and preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements. This role primarily focuses on healthcare revenue cycle accounting, requiring a deep understanding of gross revenue, contractual discounts, denials, and bad debt. Additionally, this position may be responsible for designing financial models and implementing special projects.

Essential Functions :

  • Manage and analyze all aspects of healthcare revenue accounting, specifically monitoring, calculating, and reporting on gross revenue versus contractual discounts, denials, and bad debt reserves.
  • Actively participate in the month-end closing by compiling and analyzing financial information in order to prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
  • Perform monthly detailed balance sheet analysis and provide explanations for monthly variances.
  • Monitor fiscal controls and communicate discrepancies or irregularities to management timely.
  • Establish and maintain fixed asset schedules for monthly depreciation.
  • Monitor and maintain payroll
  • Actively participate in the annual financial audit by preparing and explaining schedules as needed.
  • Routinely analyze and explain expenditure variances to the budget and trends.
  • Establish and build effective and productive relationships with the field and other departments.
  • Complete special projects as assigned while completing routine tasks on a timely basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard the operations of the business.

Essential Qualifications:

Education/Certification: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience. CPA a plus.

Required Knowledge: Understanding of GAAP.

Knowledge of computer and Internet applications, accounting systems.

Understanding of budget and reporting requirements.

Experience Required: Strong emphasis on experience in healthcare revenue. AI experience with Claude for Excel or similar preferred

Skill and Ability: Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Attention to detail and solid organizational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Office suite of products. Advanced-level skills in Microsoft Excel. Great Plains and FRX experience preferred.

Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality, discretion, and integrity.

Clearances/Background: Must be able to successfully pass an extensive background check as required for grantors.

Job or State Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience. CPA a plus.
