Accounting ManagerWe are looking for a highly motivated individual in Carrollton to join our renovations team! The successful candidate will have exceptional accounting experience in operational general ledger accounting and reporting in both a hands-on and leadership capacity. Experience in the construction industry is a definite advantage as we are looking for a candidate that is familiar with percentage of completion accounting. The successful candidate will also have a proven track record of identifying and driving process improvement, being system oriented is a must. This position reports to the Director of Finance - Renovations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of the construction accounting division; including accurate and timely processing of A/P, A/R, and Cost Accounting.
- Provide strong leadership, direction and mentorship to a team of 5-10.
- Establish strong processes and reporting around the construction accounting including the monthly WIP process. (percentage of completion accounting)
- Manage and lead an accurate and timely monthly close within the corporate deadlines.
- Provide detailed explanations for variances in monthly and quarterly numbers.
- Become a subject matter expert in everything that is renovations accounting.
- Review and approve certain local account reconciliations and journal entries in accordance with company policies.
- Identify and drive process improvements with in corporate and globally throughout the organization.
- Establish strong partnership with key stakeholders throughout the KATERRA organization.
- Provide timely support and guidance to all ad hoc requests including audit and tax.
Required Skills & Experience- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or business required.
- CPA, CA, CIMA, ACCA or international equivalent is preferred
- Experience of working in the construction Industry will be a significant advantage
- Extensive experience identification and driving system and process improvements
- Sound knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and experience in ensuring compliance with US GAAP
- Solid leadership skills required and ability to interface and collaborate with senior executive management
- Ability to work well and negotiate a team environment is a must
- Ability to work in a global environment and support internal customers geographically dispersed
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, knowledge and PowerPoint skills
- Experience working in an ERP environment. Sage preferred
- Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think creatively, highly driven, flexible and self-motivated
- Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
