Position Overview:- Location: Corporate Office - San Diego, CA 92108
- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will oversee essential accounting functions and drive financial accuracy across the organization, Primary duties include:
- Financial Management: Overseeing the general ledger, month-end close processes, and financial reporting.
- Operations: Managing Account Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Strategic Support: Supporting budgeting efforts, internal/external audits, and continuous process improvements.
- Compliance: Ensuring all activities align with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Required).
- Experience: Minimum of 5-8 byears of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting, Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is preffered.
- Core Competencies: Proven ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication skills, and strong problem-solving abilities.
Essential Functions: - Supervises and delegates work for accounting associates.
- Manages daily accounting and reporting activities including general accounting, property accounting, payroll accounting and internal auditing.
- Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
- Assists in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department, collaborating with other department managers in fulfilling this responsibility.
- Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more evident procedures and use of resources.
- Manages cash and bank reconciliations.
- Manages the single or multiple activities of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions. Minimizes financial risk.
- Responsible for hiring and evaluating performance of personnel under direct supervision. This would include handling personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc. Also responsible for recommending training requirements for staff under direct supervision.
- Prepares financial analyses and financial reports. Supports Controller/CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements. In so doing, furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.
- Other duties may be assigned, such as supporting the CFO with balance sheet account analysis, annual budget and payroll batch review and funding.
