  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Deliver financial analysis and variance explanations to support executive leadership and operational teams.
  • Coach and mentor the accounting team to meet performance expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate governance requirements.
  • Coordinate external auditor activities as the primary finance contact.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and results-driven Accounting Manager to serve as a true business partner. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting activities, the integrity of inventory accounting and valuation, and the development and performance of the accounting team.

This position is critical to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial information, strengthening internal controls, and providing management with meaningful financial insights to support strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Operations, and cross-functional stakeholders to optimize financial processes and improve operational efficiency.

What you're responsible for:
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards (ASPE).
  • Oversee and review bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, petty cash, and inventory reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are analyzed, resolved, and properly documented. Provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Deliver financial analysis and variance explanations to executive leadership and operational teams to support informed decision-making.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop the accounting team while ensuring performance expectations are met and priorities are effectively managed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Coordinate external audit activities and serve as the primary finance contact for external auditors.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to increase efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
