Serving clients across the region and key offshore markets, the team has built deep regional expertise and longstanding relationships with institutional investors. The business serves a diverse client base, including pension funds, official institutions, insurance companies, single family offices, corporations, and other sophisticated investors, while leveraging PIMCO's fixed income leadership and expanding alternatives platform to deliver tailored investment solutions.
Position Overview
PIMCO is seeking an Account Manager, Latin America to join the Latin America & Caribbean Institutional business team. This client-facing role will focus on supporting and growing relationships with institutional investors across Latin America, including pension funds, central banks, insurance companies, and single-family offices. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted partner to clients, helping them navigate investment challenges and achieve their objectives through PIMCO's capabilities across fixed income, alternatives, and customized investment solutions.
Working closely with senior coverage professionals, portfolio managers, product strategists, and investment specialists, the individual will support and deepen existing client relationships, identify and pursue new business opportunities, deliver investment insights, and contribute to the continued growth of PIMCO's Latin America business. The role involves regular client interaction, including portfolio reviews, investment discussions, presentations, educational forums, and business development activities conducted in both Spanish and English.
The successful candidate will build relationships with key decision-makers across a diverse institutional client base, represent PIMCO throughout the region, and help drive the growth and adoption of the firm's investment solutions through a consultative, client-centric approach. This position offers meaningful exposure to senior investors and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility over time. The role is ideal for a high-performing professional who is eager to deepen their institutional coverage experience, expand the scope of their client relationships, and grow into a broader relationship management role as the business and opportunity evolve.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop, maintain, and deepen relationships with institutional investors across Latin America, including pension funds, central banks, insurance companies, single family offices, and other sophisticated investors.
Execute client-specific growth strategies and drive business development opportunities across the full spectrum of PIMCO investment solutions, including fixed income, alternatives, mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, and customized mandates.
Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers and key stakeholders within client organizations, serving as a strategic partner and advisor on investment-related matters.
Conduct client meetings, portfolio reviews, presentations, educational events, and investment discussions in both Spanish and English.
Deliver market insights, portfolio updates, and investment content, helping clients navigate evolving market conditions and achieve their long-term investment objectives.
Maintain an active presence across the region through regular travel, supporting client meetings, business development initiatives, conferences, industry events, and other client-facing activities. Travel is expected to average approximately one to two trips per quarter, with frequency evolving based on business needs and client opportunities.
Partner closely with portfolio managers, product strategists, alternatives specialists, and other investment professionals to deliver tailored solutions, generate new business opportunities, and deepen existing client relationships.
Identify opportunities to expand relationships across existing clients while developing new sources of business growth throughout the region.
Provide feedback to PIMCO leadership on client needs, product demand, competitive dynamics, industry trends, client satisfaction, and market developments to help shape business priorities and opportunities.
Represent PIMCO at client events, industry conferences, and educational forums, helping to strengthen the firm's presence and relationships across the region.
Contribute to the broader success of the Latin America business by sharing client insights, sales intelligence, best practices, and collaborating across teams to advance strategic business initiatives.
Drive innovation by staying informed on client needs, market trends, competitive developments, and industry best practices, and applying those insights to enhance client engagement, business development efforts, and overall team effectiveness.
Identify opportunities to leverage data, automation, AI-enabled tools, and evolving technologies to enhance client coverage, improve decision-making, increase operating efficiency, and support scalable business growth.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Approximately 5-10 years of relevant experience within asset management, institutional sales, relationship management, client management, consultant relations, business development, or a related field.
Experience working with institutional investors in Latin America, including pension funds, central banks, insurance companies, single-family offices, and other sophisticated investors, either through direct coverage responsibilities or by supporting broader client relationship efforts.
Fluency in Spanish and English, including the ability to conduct client meetings, presentations, and investment discussions in Spanish.
Strong understanding of fixed income markets, investment products, and portfolio construction, with the ability to discuss market developments, portfolio positioning, and investment solutions with sophisticated institutional investors.
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to develop credibility with institutional investors, senior decision-makers, and other key stakeholders.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment concepts clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to identify commercial opportunities while maintaining a long-term relationship focus.
Proven ability to prioritize opportunities, manage multiple client relationships, and execute against ambitious business objectives.
Demonstrated commitment to the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and work effectively across global and cross-functional teams.

Active FINRA Series 7, 63, and 3 licenses required.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of alternative investment products and strategies.
Experience working across multiple Latin American countries and investor segments, including experience traveling throughout the region.
CFA designation, MBA, or other advanced degree.
